RUNOFF WATER CAPTURED

Tamworth’s West Leagues Club has been doing its bit for the environment, by saving water.

The club harvested more than 400,000 litres of water during the Country Music Festival, to reuse in the club’s amenities.

West Leagues CEO, Rod Laing said ” when you look at clubs overall, we’re here for the community and I guess we’re going to save Tamworth in particular a lot of water over the next 12 months.”

The Namoi Catchment Management Authority’s Simon Taylor, is urging more clubs and businesses to come on board.

” Large industry and water users need to start thinking about how they can sustain their water and also get down the costs of water use and infrastructure.”
