‘MOVES AFOOT’ FOR BARWON LAC

A cloud of uncertainty continues to hang over the heads of local police following rumours of a possible restructure.

Barwon Local Area Command is just one LAC under threat of being dissolved.

Moree Plains Shire Council Mayor Katrina Humphries says she’s been involved in a series of meetings with police department heads, but nothing has been confirmed.

“I’m expecting to hear more towards the end of the month, but there’s definitely moves afoot. Anything that sees more police on the beat I’ll be happy with.”
