CHRISTMAS CHEER HITS THE HUNTER EARLY
It may be more than a month away, but Christmas has already arrived in Newcastle.
More than a thousand children enjoyed some festive cheer today as part of the Variety Kids Christmas Party… including a visit from Santa.
“We think it’s very important that every child in the Hunter that’s facing some form of disadvantaged gets a great Christmas,” Jason Bourke from Variety Kids Charity says.
Meanwhile, Kmart today launched its wishing tree appeal at Waratah with a cake, and a choir.
“It started with a team members idea back in Adelaide 30 years ago and it’s grown and grown to delivering almost 8 million gifts through the country every year,” Kmart Waratah store manager Nigel Brown says.
