Three people were arrested and a sawn-off shotgun was seized when police stopped a car near Newcastle this morning.
Police arrested a man and two women after allegedly finding a gun, amphetamines and cash in a car during the search of a car in Marion Street, Shortland, just after 3am.
A 46-year-old Maryland male was refused bail, a 31-year-old Kotara woman was charged with traffic and drug offences, while a 21-year-old Bar Beach woman was released pending further investigations.
