SIX SURF CLUBS REAP REWARDS

Six surf life saving clubs got a boost today, with Newcastle Council handing over $60,000 in funding for essential services.

It was also a chance to get a first look at the newly-refurbished Nobbys club..

The $1.2-million project was jointly funded by the state government, the council and the club itself.

“twenty years in the making – lots of sausages, lots of raffles, lots of sweat has gone into it but what we have as a result is going to be fantastic not just for us but for all of the community”
