PARAMEDIC ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED WHILE TRANSPORTING PATIENT
A paramedic has allegedly been assaulted twice while transporting a patient to a Newcastle hospital earlier this month.
Police and paramedics responded to reports that a man was behaving erratically on the Pacific Highway at Heatherbrae at around 3pm on the 17th of October.
He was placed in an ambulance, where police allege that the man spat in the face of a paramedic.
It’s also alleged that as he was leaving the vehicle, he grabbed the leg of the paramedic and squeezed tightly.
The 47-year-old was released from hospital yesterday, where he was arrested and charged with two counts of common assault.
