CHARGES LAID AFTER TWO ALLEGED HOLD UPS IN NEWCASTLE YESTERDAY
A man will face a Newcastle court after being charged in relation to two robberies yesterday.
The first incident took place shortly after 9am in Telarah, when the 44-year-old allegedly entered a supermarket on South Street in Telarah armed with a knife and stole cash.
About an hour later, it’s alleged he used a gun to rob a pharmacy on Kenrick Street in The Junction.
The man allegedly fled in a car to a service station in Heatherbrae where he threatened another a man with a weapon.
He was arrested by police and charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and three counts of robbery while armed with dangerous weapon.
