It’s hoped Armidale will soon take the lead of another regional city, when it comes to airport connectivity.
People can already fly direct to Brisbane and Sydney, but once the $12-million upgrade is complete, it wants to have as many flight options as Dubbo.
“You can fly to Brisbane, to Newcastle, to Canberra, to Sydney, to Melbourne and out to Broken Hill and Cobar. It’s actually the most connected airport in this state, aside from Sydney.”
Work is expected to be complete by the end of the month.
