ARMED ASSAILANT HOLDS UP GROUP IN CHARLESTOWN
A group of people have been held-up by a knife-weilding man near Newcastle overnight.
The group – consisting of five men and a woman – were sitting on a sporting oval on the Pacific Highway in Charlestown, just before 1am this morning, when the man approached the group.
Armed with a knife, it’s alleged he threatened the group and stole three wallets, before heading towards a club on Lincoln Street.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police now wish to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.
He has been described as aged in his 20s, about 168cm tall and wearing a grey hooded jumper and a grey or navy balaclava.
