MARRIAGE EQUALITY ROAD TRIP ROLLS IN TO COFFS HARBOUR
The Regional Marriage Equality Road Trip drove into Coffs Harbour today, as same sex survey ballots continue to arrive in letterboxes.
Organiser Mitchell Clout says the debate has been particularly isolating for those outside of capital cities.
“This isn’t an issue that’s just confined to Sydney and Melbourne, like a lot of people think. There are gay and lesbian people right around the country, particularly in regional areas.”
And while there’s been some challenging conversations, it has been good to clear the air on a difficult issue.
“I think there’s too much confusion around it all, so to have people out there, and put faces to it, I think it’s really important.”
