MARRIAGE EQUALITY ‘YES’ CAMPAIGNERS ARRIVE IN TAREE
Marriage equality campaigners hit the pavement in Taree today, encouraging locals and businesses to support the yes vote.
The crew are road tripping to regional towns in northern New South Wales reminding people to vote.
“Too many of these surveys will end up sitting on kitchen benches and relegated to the recycling bin, and that’s a shame.”
While they’re pushing for the laws to be changed, they say they are also encouraging respect on both sides.
“Of course this is an issue that everyone has a wide range of opinions on, we respect that and it’s absolutely essential that we do have a respectful debate so while we are getting mixed views that’s fine we are getting a lot of support as well so we’re happy with that.”
Surveys must be received by the Australian Bureau of Statistics 6pm on November 7.
