MAN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGEDLY DISCHARGING FIREARM
Police have charged a man who allegedly pointed a rifle at a woman during a domestic disturbance in the Hunter Valley.
At around 9:30am on Friday, police say a 27-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man became involved in an argument at and address on Dangar Road, Singleton.
It’s alleged that the argument escalated into a physical fight. The man then collected a rifle from the boot of his car and pointed it at the woman.
The woman deflected the barrel away and the firearm discharged before the man returned to his car and drove away.
No one was injured as a result of the firearm being discharged.
Police yesterday attended a home in Wakehurst Crescent, Singleton Heights and arrested a 21-year-old man.
A search of the property located an amount of steroids, a replica pistol, ammunition and a firearm part.
The man was charged with 10 offences, including common assualt, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, and firing a firearm in a manner likely to injure.
A 25-year-old woman was also arrested at the scene for outstanding warrants.
