In Newcastle Rugby League, Macquarie will play Wests for a place in the grand final, after the Scorpions edged out Central in today’s qualifying semi.
Leading 6-4 at the break, Macquarie went on with the job in the second half with tries to Royce Geoffrey and Randall Briggs.
Central had some hope when Ethan Cook scored, but Daniel Abraham closed the game out with a controversial late try.
