SAFETY RAMPED UP FOR INVERELL INTERSECTIONS
State and Local governments are working together to make three dangerous intersections in Inverell safer.
Traffic calming devices are set to be installed at the hot spots after the state government promised $152-thousand, that amount is set to be matched by the Inverell Shire Council.
“Council will install traffic islands in the middle of the roads, different coloured asphalt at the intersections to alert motorists and remind motorists to slow down, stop and give way at the intersections,” Adam Marshall, Member for Northern Tablelands.
The devices will be installed at two intersections along Oliver Street at Wood and Mansfield Street, as well as the cross roads of Ross and Mansfield.
