MAITLAND MP WANTS ANSWERS ON SCHOOL CAMERA

The Member for Maitland has called on the state’s Education Minister to hold an urgent meeting at Ashtonfield Public School.

Jenny Aitchison says she’s been approached by a “number of parents with grave concerns about the placement of a camera or cameras” at the school.

She says there have been “conflicting explanations”, and wants answers.

The education department says “a camera was put in plain sight in a classroom in response to a police matter…

And that “the matter does not involve or put any students at risk”.
