A suburban street in Lake Macquarie was ‘blocked off’ this morning, but not for the reason you might think.
Several contestants from Channel Nine’s The Block made an exciting appearance at Fairburn Close in Jewells, as part of a KOFM radio competition.

“We rolled into the street and got hammered straight away, we haven’t had to deal with this very much so far, so it’s pretty exciting, haven’t had to sign an autograph until this morning,” the duo says.
The lucky street was selected from more than 100 entries.
“We are such a great support system for each other, we get together for every Christmas event, Australia day, birthdays, every birthday is celebrated in this street,” a winning resident says.
