POLICE PURSUIT CROSSES NSW-QUEENSLAND BORDER
Two people have been arrested after allegedly stealing a car and evading police while crossing the Queensland-New South Wales border earlier today.
New South Wales Police were informed by their Queensland counterparts they were following an allegedly stolen vehicle through the Gold Coast south towards the border, around 1am.
Police say the utility had been driven at speed through Logan, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and at one point rammed a police car.
The utility came to a stop after running out of petrol on Pottsville Road in Mooball.
A man and woman ran from the scene and attempted to access a nearby house, but were arrested.
Police allege they located a small amount of methylamphetamine, cannabis, ammunition, and a knife during a search of the pair.
The 27-year-old man was charged with a string of offences, including driving in a manner dangerous, exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h, possessing a prohibited drug, and driving whilst disqualified.
Among other charges, the 24-year-old woman was charged with possessing a prohibited drug.
