COMMUNITY FORUM DISCUSSES PLANNING DECISIONS
More than 200 residents packed City Hall last night, to air their grievances about local planning decisions.
The community forum heard from guest speakers and Newcastle Lord Mayoral candidates, discussing a range of issues including high-rise development and light rail.
“I guess the common point of view we came to was the absence of consultation of any sort that is genuine in the planning of the future of Newcastle,” said David Blyth from the Hunter Community Coalition.
Residents also voted on a charter for more community involvement in the process.
