DRUM LINES TO CATCH SHARKS AT COFFS HARBOUR

A series of up to 10 drum lines began to be rolled out in the ocean off Coffs Harbour and Sawtell this morning.
The Department of Primary Industries says the drum lines are a more effective way of recording shark populations and movements along the coast.
The lines, which catch sharks for tagging and release, will be in place for the next six months as part of a state government shark management strategy.
