MANNING GREAT LAKES POLICE RECEIVE LARGE AMOUNTS OF GUNS DURING AMNESTY

Mid-North coast gun owners have been quick to respond to the National Firearms Amnesty.
Local police have received 175 firearms, the fourth highest number in the state
Coffs Harbour sits at sixth highest, just behind Lake Macquarie.
Taree police say it’s a surprising but positive number.
“I do think it shows the amnesty is working with people and the community it right on board with bringing those fire arms in,” said Act Insp Matthew Hinton.
The firearms amnesty runs until the end of September.
