PETITION LAUNCHED FOR MALPAS TO GUYRA PIPELINE

A pipeline to secure Guyra’s water supply may be a step closer with Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall, launching a new petition to garner community support.
Water usage figures show residents of Guyra currently use 423 mega-litres annually – well beyond what the town’s existing dams can handle.
Armidale Regional Council has developed a business case to construct a pipeline from Malpas Dam to Guyra, future-proofing the town’s supply.
Mr Marshall wants the state government to foot the $9-million price tag – he’s now urging residents to sign the petition.
