POLICE SEARCHING FOR POWER TOOL OWNERS
Police on the Gold Coast are searching for the owners of power tools, after they recovered a number of items they believe were stolen from unsuspecting tradesmen.
Last Tuesday, a man handed in to police a large number of power tools that he had been selling since December last year, after first purchasing from an online marketplace .
Someone who saw the items for sale contacted the man, claiming a number of them had allegedly been stolen from his work trailer at Paradise Point on July 15.
Police searched a home in Southport last Wednesday, where a number of power tools, suspected of being stolen, were seized.
A 35-year-old Southport man will appear in court next month, after police charged him with two counts of receiving tainted property and one count of entering a premises and committing an indictable offence.
Police have released images of some of the tools recovered during the search in the hope of locating other possible victims of theft.
Anyone in the Gold Coast area who has had tools stolen over the last year and may recognise the property is urged to contact Policelink on 131 444 or attend Coomera Station.
