WHAT’S HAPPENING WITH ARMIDALE’S OLD TEACHERS’ COLLEGE?
The future of one of Armidale’s most historic and beloved buildings is up in the air.
In February the University of New England publicly indicated it would relinquish its role as trust manager of the Old Armidale Teachers College grounds.
However, local member Adam Marshall says residents can rest assured – the historic building will be maintained regardless of UNE’s decision.
“But should they walk away, New South Wales Crown lands will take over management of that facility on behalf of the community,” Northern Tablelands MP, Adam Marshall.
UNE has long maintained the building, investing in ongoing improvements.
It comes after Armidale Regional Council declined to takeover the site earlier this week.
