MORE MOBILE TOWERS, REDUCED BLACKSPOTS
New mobile phone towers were unveiled in the Tamworth region today.
Vodafone stumped up the cash for a tower at Kootingal, while a new link at Westdale was funded under the Federal Mobile Blackspots Programme.
Member for New England Barnaby Joyce says the Westdale tower will improve mobile coverage along the Oxley Highway.
“Just this site here alone should cover an extra 126 square kilometres around this area, around the city of Tamworth.”
Vodafone is rolling out 18 sites in the New England region under the first round of the Mobile Blackspot Programme, adding to those of Optus and Telstra.
