HOMELESS CONNECT IN TAMWORTH

The annual Tamworth Homeless Connect Day, attracted a record number of participants in its sixth year.
More than 900 people came through the doors today.
“We’ve had employment services, health services, mental health, drug and alcohol, obviously family services, youth services plus all the Government agencies have been here. Then we’ve also had some great stuff – free food, entertainment and haircuts,” Leigh Smith, Tamworth Family Support Services.
The event aims to bring a range of services together under one roof.
“Homelessness is a result of other issues. It’s important that all services are involved, because at the end of the day they all effect it,” Leigh Smith, TFSS.
