TAMWORTH BUS STOPS SET TO BE UPGRADED
More than $70-thousand will be spent across the Tamworth electorate upgrading problem bus stops.
81 locations have been earmarked for an overhaul- making them safer and more accessible to people who use public transport.
“That means better signage, its means tactile indicators too, for those who have a sight impairment, so they’ll be able to feel where those indicators are.”
A popular bus stop on Calala Lane will be one of the first upgraded – a concrete slab will be extended to the kerb, to improve disability access.
“We’ve contacted all the bus companies and various community groups to ascertain the most highest priority ones.”
