RAWLINGS DEPARTS FOLLOWING COUNCIL VOTE

In an unexpected announcement by Kempsey Shire Council this afternoon, general manager David Rawlings has left after eight years in the top job.
In a statement, Mayor Liz Campbell says councillors identified a need for significant change, in order to move the organisation in a new direction.
Council’s director of corporate management, Daryl Hagger, has been appointed acting general manager.
Mr Rawlings was unable to comment.
