A spate of motor vehicle theft across Tamworth has police calling on all residents to take responsibility and lock their vehicles.
In the last two weeks alone – four cars have been burnt out, several more have been stolen and others have had items stolen from them.
“This is really preventable, so many people in town don’t lock their vehicles, they leave valuables in their vehicles – coins, laptops, cameras, all sorts of stuff, phones – and they’re just really accessible to the opportunistic thief,” Chief Inspector Jeff Budd said.
