TEENAGER ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGED CRIME SPREE

A teenager has been charged after allegedly stealing a car and committing two armed robberies near Tamworth yesterday.
Police allege the 17-year-old boy stole a Toyota Hilux from a property in Pilliga at 7pm yesterday.
The boy allegedly then drove to Gunnedah and armed with a knife, threatened staff and stole cash from a fast food store about 9.15pm.
At 10.30pm, police say he travelled to a petrol station on Goonoo Goonoo Road, Tamworth. This time he was armed with a tyre repair tool and small metal bar, he allegedly threatened staff and stole cash.
Police located the Hilux utility on Goonoo Goonoo Road and commenced a pursuit through Tamworth which ended in a crash at the intersection of Marius and Swan streets.
No one was injured during the incidents.
The teenager was arrested and charged after allegedly returning a reading of 0.088 from a breath test.
