HARRIOTT MAKES SUCCESSFUL BBL DEBUT

Tamworth’s Andrew Harriott made his Big Bash League debut in the Melbourne Renegades’ one-run win over Brisbane last night.
Plucked from the Sydney grade competition, he didn’t get a bat, but he contributed heavily in the field.
The 24 year old wicketkeeper took a catch in just the second over, removing Jimmy Peirson.
“The new wicket keeper, Harriott, takes it. He’s straight in the game. He had time to settle. What a way to start your Big Bash career as a ‘keeper.”
His gloves a safe target for his team, claiming a second off the bowling of Sunil Narine.
While his quick thinking in the final over saw him run out Mitch Swepson off a wide, leaving the Heat all out on 198.
