A woman in her 60s has died after the car she was travelling in with her husband was struck by an XPT in Northern NSW.
The couple was on a level crossing on the outskirts of Kyogle when their car was hit around 8am. There is some suggestion the car may have stalled on the crossing. It was pushed more than 400 metres south along the tracks.
The woman is believed to be a local.
