There was plenty of drama for Lake Macquarie sailors Nathan Outteridge and Iain Jensen, on day one of the America’s Cup Challenger Playoff finals.
Competing for Sweden’s Artemis Racing, they were neck-and-neck with Team New Zealand, when Outteridge went flying off the side as Jensen made a tactical move.
Artemis retired from race three, with the crew unable to make up for the loss of its skipper.
New Zealand leads the first to five series, 2-1.
