  1. What type of Council destroys its premier recreational area, lies about Works Brought Forward, subjects the community to noise level far greater than that allowed in any workplace, chops trees, disadvantages business, removes heritage items and limits Novocastrian access for any reason let alone for a 3 day Supercars event that all affected communities detest not only because it has a long history of community losses but because it is environmentally destructive event? Also what type of media provides biased coverage without asking affected communities and business to have a say?

  2. I am outraged and upset to see those beautiful trees fall today. What sort of backward council would destroy such a beautiful place? The foreshore area was given to the people of Newcastle by previous forward thinking council members, and in one day this council has taken it away. Silence from our Greens representatives? I despair for Newcastle.

  3. Again Council is lying the Scott St were chopped today by Council -these will never be replaced

  4. That’s a huge increase in shade provided by trees on the foreshore – nice move by council. It’s easy to mock during the work phase, personally I’ll wait to see the end result – 170 trees to go, replaced by 230 sounds like things are moving forward nicely.

  5. So we’re told the noise management plan can’t be released because the circuit isn’t 100% finalised. What a dodge! It’s 100% tearing past homes in Scott and Watt street, Parnell Place and Nobbies Road. Our rates are paying the wages of liars.
