Work has begun on a new lifeguard building at One Mile Beach, designed to increase the safety of beachgoers.
The $840,000 facility will include a shark observation tower, as well as a first aid room.
It’s being built on the site of the former timber building, which didn’t meet the needs of lifeguards.
The new structure is due to be completed by the end of September – in time for the start of the beach season.
