RAFTERY INQUEST TO START MONDAY

A coronial inquest will begin in Newcastle on Monday into the 2015 death of New Lambton Heights teenager, Ahlia Raftery.
Ahlia died in the Calvary Mater Hospital, one week after admitting herself to the Mater Mental Health Centre. She was 18.
The inquest will focus on her care and treatment, in the days leading up to her death.
The coroner is also expected to deliver recommendations to improve the health and safety of patients.
Ahlia’a parents have given NBN News permission to identify their daughter and hope the inquest will give her a voice, while promoting changes within the mental health system.
