A police officer has been cleared of assaulting an environmental protester, after he was found not guilty in Gunnedah Local Court.
The two assault charges resulted from an arrest made at the Leewood Facility in the Pilliga in February 2016.
More than 300 people took part in the demonstration – organised by the Wilderness Society.
The group was protesting against coal seam gas exploration by mining giant Santos.
