In basketball, and despite a massive fourth quarter, Maitland has suffered a narrow, second-straight loss in the Waratah League.
Hornsby’s Darcy Emery got the visitors off to a great start, and Jack Edwards was solid for Maitland, producing 19 points and 10 assists.
American Tyler Monroe had 19 points and 23 boards, but the visiting Spiders established a big halftime lead, and eventually won 86-85.
