Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce has praised the region’s passion for beef production, while fulfilling a key election promise.
The Deputy PM visited Casino this morning – presenting a million-dollar government grant to Beef Week organisers.
“The Northern Rivers is so proud of their beef-producing capacity, and that doesn’t matter whether you’re in Casino or Lismore, or if you’re poking up towards the hills up towards Drake and Tabulam. People know you can make a dollar out of beef.”
“We’ll be looking to make sure this money goes a long way to the future of beef week.”
The popular agriculture festival commences Saturday night.
