A fire has extensively damaged a surf lifesaving club south of Newcastle overnight.
Emergency services received a call just after 4 o’clock this morning, alerting them to the blaze at Redhead Surf Lifesaving Club on Beach Road.
Four fire crews took about an hour to extinguish the blaze, that broke out in the bottom level kitchen of the building.
The contents of the kitchen were destroyed, but there was no structural damage.
No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
