Work has begun on a new community garden in Tamworth’s CBD.
Council has teamed up with the local TAFE to transform this empty space into a waterwise oasis.
The hope is that the garden will be sustained from rainfall alone.
“Take what’s been a little bit of a neglected green space in the CBD area and turn it into a low water, low maintenance garden so it becomes a usable space, a beautiful space.”
The project is designed to inspire locals to introduce water saving measures in their own gardens.
