NEW BIKEWAY PLANS TO LINK BYRON BAY TO LENNOX HEAD

Ballina mayoral candidate, Sharon Cadwallader says she’s keen to proceed with plans to boost local tourism and connect smaller towns to the major centres in the region.

A motion which was passed by council last week, will look at building a bikeway, connecting Lennox Head to Byron Bay.

“It’s a bit of a no brainer in my view. The region’s attracted $35 million dollars in Govenment money, and it’s time Ballina tapped into that” – Sharon Cadwallader, Ballina Shire Council.

The strategy also calls for the extension of the new Northern Rivers Rail Trail to reach the Ballina Byron Gateway Airport.
