LOCALS MAKE THEIR BID ON THE 11TH HOUR

Bellingen’s Mayor has denied any wrongdoing in a controversial decision to remove five Camphor Laurels on Church St.
Protestors today made a last-ditch effort to save the trees, which are due to start going tomorrow.
Anne Graham is one protester who says so far their pleas to the Council have fallen on deaf ears.
“I said, but you haven’t done what you need to do, to talk about disruption to business and I also understand they’re meant to put a notice in the paper, to let everyone know the street will be closed tomorrow.”
