GOLD COAST KAYAKER DEATH NOT TREATED AS SUSPICIOUS

The search for a missing kayaker on the Gold Coast has ended, after a body was found not far from where he was last seen.

A search was initiated around 5:20pm yesterday to locate a 54-year-old male kayaker, who went missing in Currumbin Creek.

His empty kayak was spotted a short time later, with the deceased being located about 7.40pm.

It’s believed the man was thrown into the water after his kayak overturned.

The death is not believed to be suspicious.
