It seems Darby Street’s Twilight Festival was a gamble that’s paid off.
Darby Street traders took a chance by holding the festival in winter, and at night – but 20,000 visitors saw the popular Newcastle shopping precinct come alive in a whole new way.
There were plenty of performers to keep the crowd entertained, and organisers say there’s every chance the event will be back in the same format next year.
