TINGHA TO BE ABSORBED BY INVERELL SHIRE COUNCIL

Tingha and its surrounds will officially become part of the Inverell Shire.

Armidale Regional Council came to the decision this week, after a survey of residents showed 57 per cent were in favour of the move.

Inverell Mayor Paul Harmon and Armidale Administrator Dr Ian Tiley will now work with local state member Adam Marshall to make a submission to change the boundary.

Dr Tiley is requesting that all costs be funded by the state government.
