HARRINGTON’S OBE GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP UNDERWAY

Recent rain in Harrington has proved a challenge for golfers competing in the country’s only over 80s championship.

2016 net champion Bob Burns from Lake Macquarie struggled with course conditions, finishing day 2 with 14 points.

“The course is not easy, it’s long, there’s no run and pretty muddy in spots but is improving,” Burns said.

“Scores are…the men’s are good, scores for the ladies a bit difficult because of the wetness of the course, ” championship chairman Bruce Fleming said.

The tournament wraps up tomorrow.
