FOUR TEENS CHARGED OVER JUVENILE DETENTION INCIDENT

Four teenagers will appear in a children’s court after an incident at a Northern Rivers juvenile detention centre.
Police were called to the facility in South Grafton around 8:15pm yesterday, where the four detainees – allegedly armed with knives – were attempting to access an air conditioning vent.
The teens, aged between 15 and 17, were arrested without incident, and charged with a range of offences including affray, possessing an offensive instrument, and malicious damage.
No staff were injured during the incident.
