A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the Hunter and Central Coast.
The Bureau of Meteorology says severe thunderstorms and showers are likely to produce heavy rain which may lead to flash flooding in the next few hours.
Locations such as Newcastle, Gosford, Cessnock, Maitland, Toronto, Morriset, Singleton, Wyong, The Entrance and Woy Woy may be affected.
Wamberal reservoir has recorded 54mm of rain in the hour to 12:55pm, while Terrigal reservoir has seen 44mm of rain fall in that period.
