CENTRAL COAST LIFESAVERS DIG FOR GOLD ON THE GOLDIE

Central Coast athletes have excelled at the Australian Surf Lifesaving Championships on the Gold Coast.

Umina’s Jemma Smith took out the under 19 champion surf lifesaving title, while Shelly Beach’s James de Vries won the under 19’s 2 kilometre Ocean Swim.

Avoca Beach claimed gold in the Open Men’s Single Ski Relay.

It was an all star team, boasting Olympians Lachlan Tame and Riley Fitzsimmons and two time Australian paddler Rob Mcintrye.

It all came down to thrilling sprint finish between Currimbin, Manly and Avoca.
