Nearly 10 years since the Pasha Bulker ran aground at Nobbys, the ship is again visiting Newcastle – under a different name.
Now known as the Drake, and sporting a different paint job, the bulk carrier was alongside the coal loader at Kooragang today, taking on a shipment for China.
It’s a far cry from the Pasha’s arrival back in June 2007, when it was spectacularly driven ashore by an east coast low.
Salvaged and repaired, the ship returned to service, and is scheduled to leave tonight.
